It’s amazing how ones failure becomes another’s success story.
We saw this recently with a late night Air Canada flight to St. John’s that was redirected to Fredericton due to bad weather.
After landing the passengers were told there was no food available as all food services were closed.
A passenger Tweeted the dilemma and before you know it an employee showed up with pizza for all.
The only problem, it wasn’t an Air Canada employee but a pilot from competing West Jet.
The next Tweet read "Awkward but funny moment: @WestJet guy walks in and says 'hey guys I'm from WestJet and we do things differently, want some pizza?"'
The pilot paid the tab.
Air Canada apologized for not stepping up and thanked the West Jet pilot who did.
Nothing is perfect but clearly there is a different culture at each airline.
We all could learn a lot from this real life social experience.
