Whose idea was it to start returning wine and liquor bottles to the Beer Store?

There is nothing more fun than running in to buy your favourite brew and the line up is through the door 'cause the wino's are returning their bottles to collect their 30 cents. Here take a 'loonie' and get the hell out of line!

Every Saturday, forget the ‘in and out’ store! It’s the ‘in and stand and wait while granny counts her plastic bag of squashed tins and wine bottles’ store! And let's hear it for the over paid college kid who's making union bucks to watch his buddy count the bottles while the rest of us whither in line. Open another cash register Einstein!

You'd think for the amount we pay for booze (tax) here in Ontario, they'd come up with a better system. Perhaps they could come up with a return program at the LCBO? Hey I’ve got an idea??? Let’s make it like the one at the Beer Store?

And they wonder why every few years we yell Privatization!!! More reason to just mush the two together and have one huge outlet. But then you wouldn’t be able to burn as much gas driving the distance between the Beer Store and the LCBO.(Which is usually just far enough you can’t walk.)

One more thought, ever wonder how much the province is collecting in wine/liquor bottle deposit that is paid but never refunded as it is just too inconvenient?
